BELOW IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF MEANINGFUL CONTRIBUTIONS:
Our timesheet recording system was done manually by all staff at our main location and two satellite project offices. She created an electronic system to make the process faster, easier and more efficient. She revamped our membership database, taking it from a manual to electronic database process. This increased the efficiency in accessing member information. Another idea was redesigning the front entrance to create a better flow from the entry to the rest of the office. This opened up the space and made it more welcoming. She also redesigned her own office area, making her desk more accessible to those who come to her for assistance. She is working on implementing better and increased use of the organization’s intranet. She is streamlining access to human resources and benefits documents so the intranet can serve as a better resource to staff. She recently created a Facebook account for our organization so we could promote our events, reports, media activity and much more. This has brought increased awareness to our organization. It was a different marketing strategy that we were reluctant to try, but she is making it work. Last year, she took our quarterly print newsletter and turned it into a monthly e-newsletter informing subscribers of events, reports, staff updates, board updates and much more. This has gained rave reviews from funders, community organizations and media persons. She not only distributes the e-newsletter, but creates and designs this all using Outlook, a free application. We have to report paper usage to funders, and due to her diligence, we recently implemented electronic tracking of paper for better financial accounting. Before, this process was manually completed by all staff. Last year, we also increased our capacity to provide Outlook email access outside of the office to staff. She is taking it one step further by now working on implementing full access of desktop workstations (remote desktop) to all main office staff. She also is working to redesign our website so this can be handled in-house, which is a cost benefit.
