2005 recipient
Clorie
Benner, administrative coordinator for AstraZeneca,
a Wilmington, DE-based pharmaceutical company, was
the winner of the 2005 OfficeTeam Administrative
Excellence Award.
What
most impressed the judges was her commitment to continuing
education. For example, when asked to provide interim
support for a certain individual or group, Benner
willingly took on the additional responsibility and
enrolled in the needed training courses on topics
such as new computer programs and applications, budget
reports, online ordering and posting, graphics and
new administrative skills. Benner also attended non-mandatory
training sessions within the organization and participated
in computer courses to keep her skills current. She
is currently working toward her master’s
degree in business administration.
Benner
showed her commitment to leadership by frequently
managing projects within the Medical Affairs group
of AstraZeneca. She contributed to the operational
efficiency of the company by tracking spending, keeping
projects within budget and working with vendors to
improve turnaround time on invoice payments, and also
served as the only administrative representative on
an operational excellence project team. Overall, Benner
has made numerous contributions to the organization.
In fact, colleagues throughout the company rely on
Benner to answer questions about business programs
and processes.
Benner
was honored on April 27, 2005 - Administrative Professionals
Day - during Targeted Learning Corporation’s
Annual
Briefing for Administrative Professionals, a live,
interactive training event for administrative staff
in Washington, DC. |
